  Health and Safety Rights and Responsibilities in the Workplace
(Advanced Education) "Ready for work" means you can safely deal with the hazards you will face when you start to work. There are hazards in all workplaces, even those you may think of as safe. For example, fast food and restaurant workers have many falls, cuts and burns. Typing on computers can eventually injure the nerves in your wrists. If you are not ready for work, the results can be tragic. On average, 27 workers are killed on the job and about 20 die in farm incidents each year in Saskatchewan.
