FEDERAL JUSTICE SERVES COMMISSION WITH NOTICE OF MOTION

On July 4^th, 2006, the Commission received a Notice of Motion from the Attorney General of Canada, advising that an application will be made to the Saskatchewan Court of Queen’s Bench for;

1. an order to quash Commissioner Edward MacCallum’s ruling of June 1, 2006, regarding the constitutional limitations on the questioning of federal witnesses; and,
   
2. an order prohibiting the Commissioner from inquiring into the reasons for actions taken by officials of the federal Department of Justice, including advice provided or received by those officials.
