Title: The School Bus Operating Amendment Regulations, 2014

Minister: Minister Responsible for Saskatchewan Government Insurance

Summary: On filing date, these regulations will amend RRS H-3.1 Reg 5 to:

  1. clarify that a school bus is not required to stop at a railway crossing that has an automatic signal; and,
  2. require the driver of a school bus, when crossing any other railway crossing, other than a crossing that has an automatic signal, to:
    1. Move the bus to the right and activate warning lights
    2. Stop the school bus before the railway crossing;
    3. Open the door of the school bus;
    4. Look in both directions of travel; and,
    5. Close the school bus door and proceed when safe over the crossing.
